Tennis Bounces Back With Three Wins Saturday At Bulldog Classic

ATHENS, Ga. - After only managing one total win yesterday at the Bulldog Tennis Classic, Mizzou tennis bounced back Saturday afternoon with a perfect 3-0 record against the competition. Senior Alex Clark and freshman Brianna Lashway each picked up a win in singles play, while the duo also racked up a victory in their lone doubles match of the day.

After falling out of the main singles draw yesterday, both Clark and Lashway competed in the singles consolation bracket. The Tiger duo each went up against members of Lipscomb and came away with day two victories.

Clark defeated Deahna Welcher (6-0, 6-0), and was followed by a win from Lashway over Kathryn Evans (6-3, 6-1). In their lone doubles match of the day, Clark and Lashway bounced back after yesterday's loss and tallied an 8-1 victory over Lipscomb's Welcher and Djuknic.

Mizzou closes out the 2014 Bulldog Classic tomorrow afternoon in Athens, Ga. Clark and Lashway look to advance in the singles consolation bracket and will also continue competition in doubles play.
