The Tigers began Saturday's slate of games with doubles against Nebraska. Mizzou dropped two of three to the Cornhuskers, but the duo of freshman Brianna Lashway and senior Alex Clark proved victorious again with an 8-5 win.
Mizzou then faced Columbia University to close out the day's doubles action. After sweeping the Lions 3-0 in yesterday's doubles matches, the Tigers only managed one victory Saturday with junior Kelli Hine and sophomore Brittany Lashway claiming an 8-7 (4) win.
In the second round of singles play, Mizzou faced off with SEC foe Mississippi State. Sophomore Cassidy Spearman struck first with a smooth victory at No. 5 (6-3, 6-0), and Brianna Lashway followed with her first collegiate singles win at No. 6 (6-2, 6-3). Next, sophomore Beatriz Machado Santos kept the Tigers rolling with a victorious 6-2, 6-3 outing. Clark continued her winning ways in Kansas City with a win at the No. 3 singles spot (6-3, 7-6 (3)).
After splitting Friday's singles round with Nebraska, the Tigers bounced back nicely Saturday winning five-of-six matches against the Bulldogs.
