MUTigers.com will sit down with Mizzou gymnastics' incoming freshman this summer. This week we get to know Tia Allbritten.

Club: Zenith Elite Gymnastics Academy

Parents: Fred and Marilyn
What made you choose Missouri?
Tia: "I chose Missouri because the gymnastics team and the coaches were amazing. When I came to visit I felt at home and like I needed to be here."
You've been on campus for a while now. How is college so far?
Tia: "It was a little hectic at first. But now that we've settled in a bit and gotten the hang of things it is better."
What is your favorite thing about college life so far?
Tia: "The whole experience."
What are your personal goals for the season?
Tia: "Compete three events and try to help the team as much as I can."
What is your favorite event?
Tia: "Vault."
How did you get started with gymnastics?
Tia: "My mom put me in gymnastics because she wanted to teach me how to fall because when I was little I used to just flop off couches. That's how I got started."
What is your favorite gymnastics memory to this point?
Tia: "At the H&I meet where I stuck my vault."
What do you like to do outside the gym?
Tia: "I like to hang out with my friends and go go-carting and bowling."
If you didn't do gymnastics, what sport would you play?
Tia: "I would do track. I ran summer track and did the 100, 200 and long jump and high jump."
What is something most people don't know about you?
Tia: "I don't come off as sensitive but I really am. I cry during movies all the time."
