Mizzou Earns Five Wins in Triple Dual

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Sophomore Lauren Reedy notched two individual wins and set a new school record as the Mizzou women's swimming and diving team went 1-2 against Illinois, Iowa and No. 11 Indiana Saturday at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Tigers (4-6) earned a 154-145 win over Illinois and suffered losses to No. 11 Indiana (170-121) and Iowa (164-135).

Reedy led Mizzou in the diving well with a sweep of the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards, with a new school record along the way. The sophomore won the 1-meter after scoring 342.55 points, a tally that set a new school mark in the event. She bested redshirt junior Loren Figueroa's previous record of 335.3, set back in the 2011 season. Reedy then scored 328.95 points on the 3-meter to take the sweep.

Also a two-event winner, junior Danielle Barbiea came away victorious in both the 100 free and 100 fly on the day. She posted a time of 50.43 on the 100 free to take top honors and swam a 54.04 in the 100 fly to claim the victory. Barbiea's 100 fly time was more than two full seconds faster than the second finisher. The junior also added a second-place showing in the 50 free with a time of 23.28.

Freshman Katharine Ross garnered Mizzou's fifth win of the day in the 100 breast after a time of 1:02.45. Ross also finished third in the 200 IM in a swim of 2:05.86.

Missouri started off the day in the 200 medley relay, where the `A' squad of junior Emily Doucette, Ross, Barbiea and sophomore Anna Patteron took second in 1:41.66.

In the 200 breast, junior Danielle Spradlin posted a second-place showing in a time of 2:19.57, ahead of sophomore Lauren Stoeckle, who took fourth in 2:21.27.

Additionally, Doucette took third in the 100 back after a swim of 57.07.

The Tigers return to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 25 in a road dual against Drury at 1 p.m.
