AMES, Ia. - Two Tigers kicked off their indoor seasons this weekend as junior Jill Rushin and senior Katie Evans traveled to Ames, IA, for the Iowa State Holiday Preview.  The duo put down some impressive performances, culminating in a pair of personal records (PR) in the shot put and two new All-Time Top Ten marks.

Rushin placed second in the shot put competition with her best toss of 16.72m (54-10.25), besting her PR from last year's SEC Championship of 16.67m (54-8.25).  Her performance also moved her up from No. 4 to No. 2 on the All-Time Top Ten list for the event; she now sits behind teammate Kearsten Peoples, who holds the School Record 16.87m (55-4.25), achieved at this meet last year.

Just behind Rushin was Evans, who placed third in the competition with her PR of 16.00m (52-06).  This beats out her previous top mark of 15.17m (49-9.25) from 2011.  Evans will also advance on the All-Time Top Ten list, moving from No. 8 to No. 6.  Evans went on to place second in the weight throw competition with a toss of 16.86m (55-3.75).
