
Gohn in the lead at FIU Pat Bradley Invitational

Sarasota, Fla. - Mizzou Women's Golf is off to a strong start after the first round at the Pat Bradley Invitational at the Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club in Sarasota, Fla. Senior Taylor Gohn (Columbus, Ind.) leads the tournament as she shot a 5-under par 67 on the day. Gohn holds the lead by two strokes, and she recorded seven birdies overall to overcome a bogey on hole number one.
As a team, the Tigers sit in fifth overall after finishing the day just 7-over par. Host team, FIU, leads the tournament (-1), followed by Maryland (+3) and Daytona State College (+5).
Florida native, Michelle Butler, joins Gohn in the top-20 overall as she is tied for 19th in the tournament with her 1-over par first round score. Sophomore Katherine Hepler (Lincoln, Ill.) is just two strokes behind Butler as she shot a 75 (+3) in the first round.
Junior Alina Rogers (Toronto, Ontario) shot 8-over par on the day, and freshman Jess Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) finished with a score 9-over par.
The tournament will continue tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. In addition to Mizzou, the field consists of 17 teams total, including Bethune-Cookman, Bradley, Cincinnati, Daytona State, Delaware, Drake, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, Maryland, Memphis, North Texas, Southern Miss, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Western Illinois.
