COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Tigers hit the road today for the first time this season as they travel down to Fayetteville for a head-to-head against the University of Arkansas.  The meet will be held at Agri Park with the women's 4k beginning at 6:00 p.m., followed by the men's four-mile race at 6:30 p.m. 

There is a lot of excitement generating around the two young Tigers' teams, and the meet is looking to be a good one against the current No. 1 ranked teams in the SEC.  The men entered the season ranked third in the conference, fourth in the Midwest Region, and received votes in the National Preseason Poll, released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), for the first time since 2008. 

This evening's meet will be the senior debut of Hayden Legg, who has helped lead the Tigers over the past three years, including a Second Team All-SEC finish last fall.  Also returning from All-SEC performances last year are sophomores Evan Chiplock and Tyler Schneider who, along with classmate Joe McKenna, raced their way onto the 2012 All-SEC Freshman Team.

The women enter the meet with nine of the 15 freshmen donning the Tigers uniform for the first time.  Making their season debut are returning-SEC Championship performers sophomores Sam Garrett and Brianna Westervelt, and juniors Ali Ross, Courtney Brown, and Courtney Wood.
