
Hepler Leads Tigers to Fourth Place Finish at Hoosier Invite

Florence, Ind.- The University of Missouri women's golf team earned a fourth place finish at this weekend's Hoosier Fall Invitational in Florence, Ind. The Tigers, 307-293-310--910, finished 12 strokes ahead of Boston College, while Wisconsin took the tournament title with a final team tally of 894. Indiana (896) placed second due to a scorecard violation, and Minnesota took third in the tournament with a score of 904.
Freshman Katherine Hepler led Missouri throughout the tournament, finishing eighth over all. She tallied a first round total of 73, recording three birdies on the way. She scored 6-over par on the second round of play, but came back with another 73 in the third round to finish the tournament just 8-over par. Junior Taylor Gohn, and Indiana native, tied for ninth place overall as she finished just one stroke behind Hepler. Scoring 9-over par on the tournament, Gohn posted her best score of the tournament in the second round. She recorded five birdies in the round and finished with a second round total 3-under par.
Junior Ariana Savich, also an Indiana Native, tied for 23rd place in the tournament. She scored 79-74-79--232 through three rounds of play. Sophomore Alina Rogers tied for 26th overall, finishing one stroke behind Savich. Rogers shot 7-over par in the first round of play, but followed it up with a score of just 3-over par in the second round after recording two consecutive birdies on the back nine holes. She finished the tournament 17-over par. Freshman Michelle Butler also had a strong second round of the tournament. She hit back-to-back birdies on her second and third holes to score 3-over par on the round. She closed the tournament in a tie for 31st place with a total score of 234.
Playing as individuals, Laura Kraft and Kate Gallagher took 40th and tied for 57th place in the tournament, respectively. Kraft shot 78-83-76 through three rounds, while Gallagher finished with a total score of 246.
