Mary Burke Tabbed Gymnast of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Big 12 Conference named junior Mary Burke Gymnast of the Week for the second consecutive week on Tuesday (Jan. 25). Burke is one of only three gymnasts in program history to have been named Gymnast of the Week three or more times during their career; former gymnasts Adrianne Perry and Sarah Shire round out the list.
This award comes after Burke put up a 39.200 all-around score at this weekend's conference opener against No. 20 Iowa State. Burke nabbed her second all-around title this season, which is the third of her career. With a season-high 9.875 on her bar routine, Burke tied for second on the event with junior teammate Allie Heizelman. Burke tied for third on vault (9.750) and also came in at second on the beam with a score of 9.775. Her 9.800 on floor put her in a three-way tie for the floor title with sophomore Lauren Swankoski and Iowa State's Michelle Browning.
