COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri softball team will host their second set of four doubleheaders this Friday afternoon, as they will face Crowder College and Heartland Community College in a pair of exhibition games at University Field. The Tigers will take on Crowder at 2:30 p.m. CT, with the matchup against Heartland starting at approximately 4:30.
Last week, Mizzou swept the doubleheader with a 6-2 win over Maple Woods Community College before defeating North Central Missouri College by a 13-0 score. Several Tiger freshmen had strong performances in their first live collegiate action. Kayla Kingsley picked up four hits over the two games with two runs and two RBIs, while Corrin Genovese picked up a pair of hits in each game – two singles, a double and a triple – with an RBI and two runs scored. Pitcher Bailey Erwin allowed just two runs in a complete game effort against Maple Woods, striking out six.
Many of the returning Tigers also shined last Friday, highlighted by senior pitcher Kristin Nottelmann, who struck out 15 and allowed just one hit in seven innings of work against Heartland. Jenna Marston, working out defensively in center field and behind the plate, went 4-for-5 on the day with two doubles, three runs and two RBI. Nicole Hudson recorded three hits, scored three runs and drove in a pair while doubling and walking twice. Princess Krebs drove in three runs on a pair of hits in the second game, while scoring twice.
