Eight Earn NACGC/W Scholastic All-America Honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Eight Mizzou gymnasts have been recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women (NACGC/W) for their scholastic accomplishments this past season. In total, the organization awarded 501 individuals who earned a collective grade point average of 3.78. Freshmen Cathryn Aliceaacosta, Taylor Medrea, Mackenzie McGill and Alex Skinner all earned grade point averages of 3.54 or above to be named Scholastic All-Americans. Sophomores Lauren Swankoski and Tori Howard made the list as well as Juniors Mary Burke and Allie Heizelman.

This marks the second time that Howard and Heizelman have been recognized for this honor. Howard is currently studying international business at the university and finished the year with a 3.96. Heizelman earned a 3.74 in the nutritional sciences field. Aliceaacosta, Burke, McGill and Skinner are pursuing their studies in the health sciences field while Swankoski is pursuing a degree in nursing.

The NACGC/W is a national association for women's collegiate gymnastics coaches, which seeks to provide the best possible experience for student-athletes. Working with the NCAA and USA Gymnastics, the association actively develops and manages the sport of women's gymnastics at the national collegiate level.
