Missouri senior Julia Potter is tied for 24th place after the first round of play at the NCAA Central Regional at Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, Ind. She turned in a round of four-over-par 76 in Thursday's opening round.
Potter opened her first round on the back nine, where she made six pars and three bogies. She opened her second nine with a bogey, before recording her first birdie of the day on the par-four second hole, her 11th hole of the day. She stood three-over par before a bogey on her final hole.
She is tied with two other golfers- Courtney McKim of Oklahoma State and Carlota Ciganda of Arizona State for 24th. That group is just one shot behind nine players who are tied for 15th place after rounds of 75 on Thursday. The co-leaders in the individual standings are Oregon's Kendra Little and Purdue's Thea Hoffmeister. They each shot a two-under-par 70 in the first round.
The second round will be played on Friday, with Potter scheduled to tee off at 12:20 p.m.
