- After scoring 114 points in the its first exhibition contest against Harris Stowe, Mizzou scored just two points at the first media timeout (15:41 remaining in the firsts half). Mizzou had a pair of turnovers and was 0-4 shooting at that point of the half. Mizzou scored 113 points in the last 35:41 of the game, including 70 points in the second half alone. In fact, Mizzou outscored UAFS, 70-41, in the second half.

- Dixon and junior Laurence Bowers (Memphis, Tenn.) combined to score 25 of Mizzou's 45 points at halftime, doing so on a combined 9-13 shooting (69.2-percent). The rest of the team tallied just 20 points on a combined 5-18 shooting (27.8-percent).
- Bowers and Dixon were a huge reason why the Tiger bench outscored the Lion bench, 33-21, in the first half.
- The difference in the first half was the Tigers' ability to get to the free throw line as it made 19 trips to the charity strip, compared to only four times for Arkansas-Fort Smith. Mizzou connected on 13 of its 19 free throw attempts while UAFS made three of its four free throws.

Conversely, the Lions scored just four points off of eight Tiger turnovers. Mizzou also tallied seven fast break points in the first half and limited the Lions to none.
- The inside play of Bowers was also a big reason why Mizzou outscored UAFS, 18-8, in the paint in the first half.

- Freshman guard Phil Pressey (Dallas, Texas) had just two points through nearly the first 30 minutes of play, but connected on back-to-back 3-point baskets to give the Tigers their first 30-point lead of the game at 78-48. The lead at the time as the Tigers' largest of the contest. Pressey finished the game with 19 points, the most of his Tiger career so far. Through two exhibition games, Pressey averaged 15.5 points per game while dishing five assists per contest.
- Bowers tallied 26 points in the game, which would have been a new career-best for the junior had the game counted. His career-best is 23 points, which he set against Georgia last season (Jan. 2) at Mizzou Arena. Bowers connected on 10-14 shooting in the game as well.
- Dixon scored 19 points in the game before exiting in the second half. The 19 points would have been a new career-best had the game counted. After going 4-4 in the first half, Dixon finished the game with 7-9 shooting, including 4-5 from 3-point range.
