The Mizzou men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds of play the Memphis Intercollegiate. The Tigers opened the event with a 299 before carding a 296 in the second round. The two-round score of 595 puts the Tigers just two shots out of a tie for third and five strokes behind second place. Akron leads with a 36-hole total of 586.
Sophomore Jace Long turned in a 77 in the opening round before carding a 68 in the afternoon 18. He is tied for eighth place with his 145 two-round total.
Sophomore Stuart Ballingall is tied for 12th spot with a 146 score, followed by freshman Hunter Kraus, who is tied for 18th place at 148. Junior Chris Johnson has a 159 total, while senior William Harrold has a 160 score after two rounds of play.
South Alabama's Jack Hiluta leads the individual standings with a 36-hole total of 141, one shot ahead of Carlson Cox of Memphis.
The final round will be played on Tuesday at Colonial County in Memphis.
