Tigers Take Runners-Up Honors at Turning Stone

Mizzou turned in the best round of the day in the final round of the Turning Stone Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y. as it carded a team score of 294 to finish in second place with a 54-hole total of 900.

Purdue won the event, finishing three shots ahead of Missouri. The Boilermakers turned in a round of 304 on Monday.

Sophomore Jace Long led the Tigers individually, as he tied for second place with a three-round score of 221 after firing he second-straight round of 74 on the final day of play.

Long finished in a tie with Seton Hall's Brandon Park, Binghampton's Jake Katz and UConn's Jeremy Troy for second place, six shots behind medalist Oakland's Jakob Ziegler.

Finishing three shots behind Long was sophomore Brad Moody, who was ninth with a 224 total after he fired a 71 on Monday, the best round of the day for Mizzou. Senior William Harrold joined Long and Moody in the top-10 as his 54-hole total of 225 put him in a tie for 10th spot.

Sophomore Stuart Ballingall tied for 32nd place with a 233 score, while freshman Hunter Kraus, in his first career tournament, tied for 44th with a 236 total.

Next up for Mizzou is the Wolf Run Intercollegiate next weekend in Indianapolis, Ind.
