Mizzou in Third at Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate

The Missouri men's golf team opened up the 2010-11 season with rounds of 309 and 297 on the first day of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate in Verona, N.Y. The Tigers' 606 total puts them in third place behind Purdue (307-286=593) and Bowling Green (308-297=605).

Individually, sophomore Jace Long is tied for second place with a two-round total of 147. Long opened with a 73 followed by a second-round 74. He trails only Jakob Ziegler of Oakland, who carded rounds of 73 and 71 for a 144 day one total. Purdue's Zhongyang Fu joins Long with a 147 score after two rounds of play.

Senior William Harrold has a 36-hole score of 152 with a pair of 76s on Sunday and is tied for 15th spots.

Sophomore Brad Moody is tied for 21st place with a 153 total (80-73), while freshman Hunter Kraus is tied for 32nd place with at 155 and sophomore Stuart Ballingall is among a group tied for 36th with a 157 total.

The final round will be played on Monday.
