The Mizzou men's golf team turned in a final round 296 at the Husky Invitational on Tuesday at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash., finishing in seventh place with a 54-hole score of 875.
The Tigers finished one shot behind Oregon State and four strokes out of fifth place, which was held by Idaho. Pepperdine claimed the title with a final tally of 847, followed by Washington with an 854 score.
Sophomore Jace Long not only turned in the best round of the day by the Tigers with an even-par 72 on Tuesday, but also had Mizzou's best finish, as he tied for sixth place with a three-round total of 213.
Long's 213 total was the best 54-hole score by a Tiger year and was just two shots more than his career best 54-hole score.
Sophomore Stuart Ballingall tied for 26th spot with a three-round total of 220, followed by senior William Harrold, who tied for 33rd place with a 223 score. Both Ballingall and Harrold turned in rounds of 73 on Tuesday.
Junior Nick Wilson tied for 40th spot with a 224 total, while junior Adam Rosenthal was among a group tied for 68th with a score of 233.
The individual medalist was Josh Anderson of Pepperdine, who carded his second-straight 68 in Tuesday's third round and finished with a 54-hole score of 10-under-par 206.
Next on the schedule for the Tigers is the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic on Sept. 27-28 in South Bend, Ind.
