Mizzou's Jace Long carded rounds of 68 and 66 for an eight-under-par total of 134 to claim medalist honors in the stroke play portion of the 2010 Missouri State Amateur Championship. Long will move on to the match play portion of the event, along with fellow Tigers William Harrold and Brad Moody.
Harrold tied for third with a two-round total of 136 (66-70) and Moody placed in a tie for 13th with a 140 (70-70) score in the stroke play competition.
In the first round of match play, Long will face Jason Hobick, Harrold will take on Don Bliss and Moody goes up against Thomas Hay.
One hundred and sixty one players entered the field and 64 have advanced to the match play tournament. The Missouri State Amateur Championship continues through Sunday at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo.
