Tigers Take Third at Home Tournament

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri men's golf team took third place the Columbia Orthopaedic Group Mizzou Intercollegiate after carding a final round 291 on Tuesday at The Club at Old Hawthorne. The Tigers had a 54-hole score of 867, finishing behind Nebraska (857) and Kansas State (858).

Kansas State's Curtis Yonke and Nebraska's Brandon Crick each had 54-hole totals of 211 to tie for first in the individual competition. Yonke defeated Crick on the fourth playoff hole to take the individual title.

Junior William Harrold carded the best round of the day for the Tigers, turning in a one-under-par 71. He ended the tournament with a three-round total of 214 after rounds of 72 and 71 on Monday, finishing in a tie for fourth place.

Sophomore Chris Johnson and freshman Stuart Ballingall each carded rounds of 72 on Tuesday. Johnson tied for ninth with a 216 total for the tournament, while Ballignall had a three-round score of 217 to place in a tie for 12th spot.

Freshman Michael Garden finished with a final score of 224 after a third-round 76 and tie for 31st, while redshirt freshman Jace Long had a 54-hole total of 225 after carding an 80 on Tuesday and tied for 38th place.

Three Tigers - sophomores Adam Roesnthal and Tommy Wuennenberg and freshman Brad Moody - competed as individuals only in the event. Wuennenberg carded a three-day total of 229 (77-75-77), while Rosenthal finished with a 231 score (77-73-81) and Moody recorded a 240 (77-81-82).

Missouri will now prepare for the Big 12 Championship, which will be played in Trinity, Texas April 23-24.
