COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri men's swimming and diving team fell to No. 8 Minnesota Saturday afternoon at the Mizzou Aquatics Center 188 to 112 on Senior Day.

Jan Konarzewski was the first men's swimmer to earn a first place finish on Saturday, winning the 100 back in 49.89 seconds, .10 seconds head of Gopher Karl Burdis.
Konarzewski also led the best race for the men swimmers on the day, as the Tigers took the top three spots in the 200 back. Konarzewski finished first in 1:48.70, Ryan Sellers took second in 1:51.30 and John Higgins in third in 1:51.85.
Greg DeStephen ended his Missouri home stand with victories in the 3-meter and platform diving events, winning the 3-meter event with 384.65 points, and the platform event with 398.40 points.
Yaniv Shnaider finished second in the 200 free behind Minnesota's Kevin Baseheart, with Shnaider reaching the finish in 1:40.92. Shnaider also went on to finish second in the 200 IM, reaching the finish line in 1:52.22
Swimming for the final time in Columbia, Cameron Sellers took second in the 200 fly, reaching the finish line in 1:51.72.
Sellers then went on to finish second in the 500 free, reaching the finish in 4:33.84, scoring four points for the men's team.
The 200 medley relay team of Konarzewski, Lopresti, Melin and Hawley took second in the first event of the day, clocking in just .8 seconds behind Minnesota's team to lead off the meet.
Lopresti went on to finish second in the 100 breast, finishing .09 seconds behind first place at 57.10 seconds. The 57.10 is his best time this year in the race, besting his previous best this year of 57.69 seconds.
Konarzewski finished second in the 100 fly, finishing in 50.21 seconds for his second, second place finish of the day.
Spenser Lauver finished third in the men's 1000 free, touching the pad in 9:29.91, while Vito Cammisano finished fifth in 9:41.24.
Shnaider finished third in the 200 breast race, touching the pad in 2:07.72, while Lopresti took sixth in 2:11.30.
The Mizzou men's swimming and diving team will be off next week, and return to action again in two weeks.
