After going scoreless until the first media timeout, the Tigers went on a 20-0 run, led by Zaire Taylor and Marcus Denmon who combined for 13 of those points. Taylor had 10 points in the half to lead all scorers at the break.
Missouri forced UMKC into seven turnovers during its 20-0 run in the first half.
Kim English was scoreless in the first half, but scored 9 straight for Mizzou to start the second half. English finished the game with 11 points.
The Tigers started the second half with a 20-4 run to give them a 28-point lead.
Mizzou forced UMKC into 25 turnovers and had 10 steals on the night. UMKC committed more than its season average in the first half alone.
