
Lovelock Leads Tigers in Fall Finale

AUSTIN, Texas - The Mizzou women's golf team concluded its 2009 fall season on Tuesday, finishing 20th at the Challenge at Onion Creek. Sophomore Hannah Lovelock led the Tigers with a 19th place finish individually at Onion Creek Golf Club in Austin, Texas.
After a tough first round, the Tigers rebounded with by carding a 283 in the second round, which was an improvement of 30 strokes from the round one. The 283 was the best 18-hole team score of the fall for the Tigers. They followed that with a 302 in the final round for a three-round total of 898.
Lovelock finished with a three-round total of 215 total, which included a second round score of two-under-par 68, matching her career best. It was Lovelock's third-straight top-20 finish. She placed in the top-25 in four of MU's five fall tournaments.
Junior Nicola Race finished in a tie for 42nd place with a 219 score. Race carded a season-best 67 in the second round, followed by a 73 in the final round.
Senior Michelle Morgan had a 54-hole total of 228, while sophomore Jacque Bardgett had a three-round total of 236 and freshman Ahnna Kim finished with a 252 score.
Missouri senior Julia Potter did not participate in this week's tournament, as she is instead playing in the Duramed Futures Tour 2010 Qualifying Tournament. The tournament will consist of four rounds played on four different golf courses. The field will then be reduced for a fifth round.
