Box Score

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri softball team managed it second no-hitter of the fall season after shutting out Johnson County Community College, 7-0, in game one of the afternoon doubleheader played on University Field. Sophomore Chelsea Thomas (Pleasantville, Iowa) threw the first five innings of play, striking out nine of the 16 batters she faced, while senior lefty Jana Hainey (Peculiar, Mo.) closed out the sixth and seventh frames.

Together, the Tigers combined for nine hits, with freshman Princess Krebs (Lithonia, Ga.) managing a 2-for-3 outing. Krebs drove in one run on a single up the middle in the fourth, scoring that same inning on third baseman Gina Schneider's (Liberty, Mo.) sacrifice fly to center field. Taking her third at bat of the game in the sixth inning, Krebs hit a leadoff double to center field, Missouri's first extra base hit of the game. The Tiger infielder was stranded at third as Missouri's players went down on outs.

Freshman Nicole Hudson (Webb City, Mo.) hit her fourth home run of the fall season to score Missouri's first two runs of the game. Batting third in the lineup, the leftfielder powered the ball deep over the left field wall. Through three games, Hudson is averaging .625 and owns a 2.250 slugging percentage.

The Tigers hung two runs in the third and three in the fourth with six of Missouri's seven runs marked as earned. In seven innings, the Tigers stole four bases. Sophomore designated player Kristin Nottelmann (Fenton, Mo.) stole two bags, one in the second, and later in the fourth inning. Teammates Shana White (Columbia, Mo.) and Ashley Fleming (Silex, Mo.) stole bases in the third and fifth innings, respectively.

Missouri will take on Iowa Central Community College beginning at 2 p.m. (CT).
