NFCA Scholar Athletes Announced

Columbia, Mo. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recognized seven members of Missouri's 2009 College World Series squad as All-America Scholar Athletes. Current Tigers Ashley Fleming (Silex, Mo.), Kristin Nottelmann (Fenton, Mo.) and Abby Vock (Morrison, Ill.) were named to the team, as were former players Andee Allen (Barnhart, Mo.), Meredith Nash (Peculiar, Mo.), Julie Silver (Chesterfield, Mo.) and Katie Milles (St. Louis, Mo.).

All seven individuals recorded a 3.50 grade-point average or better throughout the 2008-09 school year. As a team, the Missouri softball squad closed out the year with the 34th best GPA in the nation at 3.298. A total of 108 teams were named to the annual list with Robert Morris' squad earning the No. 1 spot with a combined 3.610 GPA.
