LAWRENCE, KAN.-- The Mizzou men's golf carded a final round score of 299 and finished in a tie for second place at the Kansas Invitational with a three-round score of 888. It is the second top-two finish for the Tigers in three tournaments this season. They won the season-opening Turning Stone Intercollegiate.
Oklahoma won the Kansas Invitational with an 886 total, shooting a 295 on Tuesday to overtake the lead. Missouri tied with Kansas and Louisiana-Lafayette for second place.
Individually, MU redshirt freshman Jace Long finished in second place with a 54-hole total of 214. The 214 total is a new career best for Long, who recorded his second top-five finish of the fall. Long shot a 72 in Tuesday's final round after turning in a pair of 71's on Monday.
Nate Barbee of Kansas won the individual medalist honors with a 211 total.
Mizzou junior William Harrold tied for 27th place with a three-round score of 227, one shot ahead of sophomore Chris Johnson, who finished tied for 30th spot. Freshman Stuart Ballingall tied for 35th with a 230 score, while redshirt freshman Brad Moody had a 233 score and tied for 49th place.
Next week, the Tigers will take part in the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic in South Bend, Ind. That tournament will get underway on Oct. 6.
