June 1, 2009

Council Bluffs, Iowa - Missouri heavyweight Dominique Bradley (Blue Springs, Mo.) finished third at the World Team Trials after dropping a loss to Tervel Dlagnev (Sunkist Kids), 1-0, 0-1, 4-1, in the Men's Freestyle 120 KG competition.

Competing for Sunkist Kids, Bradley advanced through the bracket with a decisive 1-0, 3-1 win over Eric Thompson of the Cyclone Wrestling Club, besting Jared Trice of Central Michigan RTC, 1-0, 3-0 to make his way to the Championship finals of the mini-tournament. Dlagnev drew the No. 1 seed at the tournament and went three rounds with Bradley winning the first period, 1-0, before dropping to Bradley in the second, 0-1. 4-1 was the final result that awarded Dlagnev first place.  Dlagnev went on to wrestle Steve Mocco and won, while Bradley challenged Ryan Tomei of Pitt, winning 1-0, 1-0, for true third.  With the win, Bradley becomes a U.S. National Team member.

The third place finish at the Mid-America Center by sophomore heavyweight Bradley is his fourth top five finish at a national competition since April 11. Bradley took Gold at the FILA Junior Freestyle Tournament in 120 KG and fourth at the Senior Men's Freestyle 120 KG weight class.
