GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Missouri junior Julia Potter opened the NCAA East Regional by carding a two-over-par 72 on Thursday at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. She stands in a tie for 21st place out of the 108 competitors.

Teeing off at 7:30 a.m. ET in the first group of the day off the 10th tee, Potter was two-over after seven holes before a birdie on the par-four 17th hole. She shot rounds of 36 on both the front and back nines.

The round of 72 ties for the best round by Potter in her seven NCAA Regional rounds. She has shot 72 in each of her last two rounds of NCAA Regional play after shooting a 72 in the final round of last year's Regional.

Potter is one shot out of a tie for 14th place and is just two shots out of 10th. Abby Bools and Ana Maria Puche, both from East Carolina, are tied after recording rounds of two-under-par 68.

East Carolina leads in the team standing after an opening round 283.

The second round of the East Regional will be played on Friday, with Potter scheduled to tee off at 11:40 a.m. The final round will take place on Saturday.
