Adcock, Rise Sit Fourth, Fifth After Day One

College Station, Texas. - Nick Adcock and Lars Rise sit in fourth and fifth place after day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships, just 60 points out of first place. Both athletes have stayed near the top of the pack in four of the seven events so far and have 3196 and 3191 points respectively,

Rise's best came in the shot put as the sophomore threw 52 feet, 8.25 inches, and in the long jump with a leap of 23 feet, 8.25 inches. Adcock stayed true to form running a solid 7.17 in the 60-meter dash and jumping 6 feet, 7.50 inches in the high jump.

After jumping 5.37 last week, pole-vaulter Brian Hancock would finish ninth clearing 5.15 meters in the finals,

In the first of her two events on the weekend, Krishna Lee finished the women's weight throw with a toss of 62 feet, 7.75 inches in the finals placing 12th. Lee will complete her indoor season tomorrow as she competes in the women's shot put.

Big 12 champion in the women's 800-meter run, Shannon Leinert finished her heat on Friday in a time of 2:13.07 in her last race of the indoor season.

Day two of the NCAA Indoor Championships will begin on Saturday with the completion of the Heptathlon.
