Columbia, Mo. -
The season-ending top-25 polls were released this morning, and the Missouri Tigers' 30-23 overtime win in the Valero Alamo Bowl against Northwestern helped land Mizzou a top-20 finish in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches' polls.
The Tigers finished 10-4 overall, winning 10 games for only the third time in school history (first time having consecutive 10-win seasons), and found themselves ranked 19th in the final A.P. Top-25, while landing 16th in the USA Today Coaches' poll.
With the 2007 squad finishing ranked 4th in the Associated Press poll, this marks the first time since 1968-69 that Mizzou has finished consecutive seasons ranked among the A.P.'s top-20. In 1968, Dan Devine's squad went 8-3 and ended 9th in the A.P. poll, followed by a 9-2 campaign and final #6 ranking in 1969.
This marks the 16th time in all that Mizzou has finished a season among the ranked in the Associated Press season-ending poll, and it is the 14th top-20 showing for the Tigers.
