KANSAS CITY, Mo. - -
The Missouri baseball team fell to Kansas, 3-0, Tuesday night in front of a crowd of 3,847 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. Mizzou's has lost five-straight games and has been shutout in two of its last four games.
Junior Ian Berger suffered the lost, despite allowing just three runs on six hits in seven innings pitched. He struck out six. He drops to 3-4 on the year and has suffered the loss in four of his last five starts.
Freshman Nick Tepesch and sophomore Ryan Allen each pitched one scoreless inning in relief.
Kansas rightfielder Ryne Price hit his 10th home run of the year in the top of the second inning to put the first run of the game on the board.
The Jayhawks added two more runs in the top of the eighth inning with both runs in the inning scoring on a single by John Allman. Allman finished 3-for-4 on the night.
Missouri falls to 29-14 on the season, while Kansas improves to 26-22. Tuesday's result will not factor into the conference record for either team.
The Tigers return to Taylor Stadium this weekend for a three-game series with Kansas State. Game one of the weekend set will open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
