Big Numbers
In its first two games this season Mizzou has outscored their opponents in the first half by an average of 22 points. In the second half the Tigers have outscored opponents in each win by 14 points. Both of this season's victories were taken with a lead of at least 29 points.
Fresh Talent
Freshman Marcus Denmon is already making an impact for the Tigers in the 2008-09 season. After just two starts Denmon is averaging 11 points and sporting an impressive 80 percent field goal percentage, shooting 67 percent from behind the arc.
Sharing The Wealth
In Missouri's season-opening win over Lincoln University the Tigers recorded 27 assists, a number well over their 07-08 season average. Tuesday night's game saw 17 Tiger assists, five of them coming from junior J.T. Tiller. Last season Mizzou averaged over 16.5 assists a game and recorded 26 or more assists twice. (vs. Southern, 11/16 and UMCK, 1/08)
Help From The Bench
Although Missouri's starters are averaging a total of 50 points this season, the Tiger's bench has put up just as impressive numbers. In the first two games this season Mizzou's bench has put up an average of 42 points with a combined average of 108 of the team's 200 minutes.
Stealing The Show
Missouri averaged a little over eight steals a game last season. In just it's first two games of the 08-09 season Mizzou has racked up 21 and 19 steals respectively. DeMarre Carroll and Kim English both grabbed four steals in Tuesday night's win over Missouri Southern State. Carroll also recorded three steals in Missouri's season opener.
