FARMINGTON, Pa.--Missouri sophomore Will Hogan finished in a tie for third at the Rutherford Intercollegiate in Farmington, Pa. with a three-round total of 218. It is the best finish by a MU golfer since the first tournament of Fall 2005.
Hogan shot a 76 in Tuesday's final round after rounds of 72 and 70 earlier in the week. He was joined in the top 10 by senior Peter Malnati, who carded a three-under-par 69 on Tuesday. The 69 tied for the lowest round of the day and gave Malnati a 54-hole score of 220, which put him in a tie for sixth place.
Sophomore William Harrold finished in a tie for 29th place with a three-round total of 228, while senior Ryne Fisher tied for 45th place and freshman Jace Long finished 60th.
Mizzou took fifth in the team standings with a final total of 898, seven shots behind fourth-place Miami (OH). The Tigers shot 298 in the final round. Purdue won the tournament with an 871 score.
Next up for the Tigers is the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Indianapolis Sept. 13-14.
