Divers Wrap Up Final Day at Nationals

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Mizzou divers Greg DeStephen and Dante Jones wrapped up their final day of action at the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday. After his 12th-place finish in 3-meter diving on Friday, DeStephen returns to Columbia as the program's second All-America diver.

DeStephen consistently hit his dives on Saturday, with five of his six dives earning scores in the mid-40 to mid-50 point range. After receiving his lowest score of the round (34.10) on his fifth dive, the Columbus, Ohio, native then tallied his highest score (55.10) to close out the session. It was not enough in the end though, as his overall score of 287.15 earned him a 22nd-place finish.

Like DeStephen, Jones registered his high and low scores of the round on his final pair of dives. After receiving an award of 21.45 on his fifth dive, the Columbia native returned in his final dive to post a 61.20. Jones tallied an overall score of 240.55 to finish 25th overall, and now returns home boasting some invaluable experience as a freshman on the national stage.
