COLUMBIA, Mo.-- -
No. 25 Mizzou was one strike away from taking game one of its three-game series with Kansas, but back-to-back home runs would give the Jayhawks a 7-5 win on Friday at Taylor Stadium.
The Tigers (20-8, 2-2 Big 12) led 5-4 heading to the ninth and had two outs and two strikes on Erik Morrison before Morrison connected on a two-run shot to give KU the lead. Ryne Price then followed Morrison with a solo home run.
The loss is Mizzou's first at home this season and the third loss in a row for the Tigers.
Sophomore Aaron Crow allowed four runs on just three hits and struck out six in 6.2 innings of work, but did not factor in the decision.
Kansas (16-15, 3-4) scored first with two runs in the top of the second inning, but Mizzou cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the second as junior Jacob Priday singled to lead off the inning and later scored on a double by junior Evan Frey.
The Tigers took the lead in the third inning as freshman Trevor Coleman hit his third home run of the season, a two-run shot over the left field wall. MU made it 4-2 lead plating a run in the bottom if the sixth inning.
The Jayhawks tied it with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning, but freshman Aaron Senne delivered a two-out through the right side of the infield to drive in Trevor Coleman with the go-ahead run in the bottom half of the inning.
