Tempe, Ariz. - Closing out its final game of the Pac 10/Big 12 Challenge, the Missouri softball team (17-13) suffered a 6-4 loss to 11th-ranked Washington (18-4) at Farrington Stadium on the campus of Arizona State. Junior Amanda Renth (Mascoutah, Ill.) pulled the Tigers within two runs of the Huskies, with her fifth inning two RBI home run to left center, but Missouri was unable to capitalize on any of its remaining at bats.

In addition to Renth's 16th career knock, sophomore shortstop Andee Allen (Windsor, Mo.) crushed her first home run of the campaign in the top of the third inning.
Leadoff batter Leanne Bowers (Arnold, Mo.) finished the day 2-for-4 at the plate, scoring two of Missouri's four runs.
Freshman pitcher Jana Hainey (Raymore, Mo.) was credited with the morning loss and falls to 3-6 on the season. Throwing 3.1 innings of work, Hainey sat down three Washington batters and now owns a team high 39 strikeouts on the season.
