Tigers Tie History with Top 20 National Ranking

Nov. 15, 2007

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri men's swimming and diving team (5-1, 1-0 Big 12) tied its highest ever ranking, Thursday when it rose three spots to No. 20 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Poll. The only other time the Tigers have been ranked as high as No. 20 came in the opening poll of the 2005-06 season.

"We've worked hard to get here," said junior co-captain Jake Hoffmann. "It was one of our goals to break the top 20 and we accomplished that. It'll be extra motivation for us this weekend."

After the men completed their second consecutive sweep at the Mizzou Dual Challenge earlier this month, they return to action Friday in this weekend's Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. Friday's prelim action kicks off at 10 a.m. with finals set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Boilermakers' Holloway Pool.
