Fordham 76, Central Missouri State 66 -- Recap

  • COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- Marcus Stout scored 22 points, Bryant Dunston had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Fordham beat Division II Central Missouri State 76-66 Monday in the first round of the CBE Classic.

    Stout, the Rams' leading returning scorer, had 14 points before halftime as Fordham (2-0) jumped out to a 14-point lead.

    Mike Moore came off the bench to hit 3-for-4 from 3-point range and score 15 points for Fordham, while Brenton Butler had 10 rebounds for the Rams.

    Tremaine Luellen led the Central Missouri State (0-1) with 17 points, Kevin Wollbrinck added 13 and Skip Thomas had 12.

    Fordham pushed its lead to 20 early in the second half before Central Missouri went on a 10-2 run to cut the lead to 10 points.

    The final of the Columbia Regional of the CBE Classic will be played on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to the semifinals Nov. 19 in Kansas City against the winner of the East Lansing, Mich., Regional.
