Tigers Record Season-Best Round at Las Vegas Showdown

LAS VEGAS, Nev.- - The Mizzou women's golf team carded its best 18-hole score of the fall with a 292 in the first round of play at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Monday. The Tigers previous season best round for MU was 297, which it had shot twice.

The Tigers are tied for fifth place with Oklahoma State, one shot behind fourth-place Kent State. Tennessee leads with an opening round 282.

Sophomore Julia Potter continued to lead the Tigers, as she turned in a two-under-par 70 on Monday, which puts her in a tie for fifth place individually.

Three Tigers are among a group of 14 tied for 27th place with a first round 74. Senior Madde Augustsson, junior Chelsea Schriewer and sophomore Michelle Morgan all carded two-over par rounds on Monday. The trio is just one shot out of a tie for 19th place and just two shots out of a tie for 10th.

The second round will be played on Tuesday, with the final round set for Wednesday.
