Columbia, Mo. - The Oklahoma State Cowgirls (9-3-2, 3-2-1 Big 12) defeated the fifth-ranked University of Missouri women's soccer team (10-3-0, 4-1-0 Big 12), by a score of 2-1 at Walton Stadium Sunday afternoon. Mizzou midfielder Meghan Pfeiffer scored her first of the season, but the Cowgirls scored two, including the game-winner in the fourth minute of overtime to give the Tigers their first conference loss of the season.

"This is the Big 12," Tiger Head Coach Bryan Blitz said. "We have everything to play for in front of us. This can be a lesson for us. I think we're quick learners...We'll will take this lesson, have a great week of practice, and be ready for the games next weekend."

The Tigers had a good chance to win their second overtime game of the season, but an Alysha Bonnick shot from about six yards out was blocked by an Oklahoma State defender, which eventually led to the game-winning goal.

Cowgirl midfielder Kasey Langdon scored the game-winner for the Cowgirls just three minutes into the overtime period, as she took the ball down the field and shot the ball past Forst for her fourth goal of the season. She also collected an assist on the Cowgirls' first goal.

The Tigers scored the first goal of the game, in the 41st minute, when midfielder Meghan Pfeiffer headed a free kick from Lindsay McCoy into the net for her first goal of the season.

Mizzou took that 1-0 lead into halftime. At the half, the Tigers were out-shooting the Cowgirls, 13-1, but still only holding the one goal advantage.

Oklahoma State would crank up the offense in the second half, getting an early chance when Langdon took a shot from about 15 yards out in the first minute of the second period. Tiger goalkeeper Mallory Forst was able to get a hand on it and deflect it out of bounds, preserving the 1-0 lead.

The Cowgirls would tie the game on their next shot, in the 57th minute, when Siera Strawser scored from about 16 yards out. She received a pass from Langdon on the top right corner of the box and sent it sailing to the far post. Forst was unable to save it, and it found the corner of the net for Strawser's third goal of the season.

The Tigers would get a few more good shots off before the end of regulation, but four were blocked, and the two that made it past the OSU defense were saved by Cowgirl goalkeeper Erin Stigler, who made eight saves on the day.

Ranking Note: Oklahoma State is ranked as high as 23rd in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas poll.
