Mizzou Men's Basketball Hosts Open Gym Saturday At 4 p.m.

Oct. 5, 2007

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Madness is on the horizon, but Tiger fans anxious to catch a sneak peak of their 2007-08 basketball team can do so on Saturday (Oct. 6) at 4 p.m., when the program hosts an open gym inside of Mizzou Arena prior to Missouri Football's Big 12 Conference-opener against Nebraska.

Admission to the open gym is free to the general public and doors on the north side of Mizzou Arena (Faurot Field side) will be the most convenient way to enter the facility.

In addition to this weekend's open gym, the Missouri basketball will be hosting Mizzou Madness on Friday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. Held following the annual Rock Bridge-Hickman high school football game at Faurot Field, Mizzou Madness is free to the general public, but the University of Missouri Department of Athletics is teaming up with the Central Missouri Food Bank and asks fans to donate one canned (food) item per person upon entry. Collection bins will be available at the gates.

The first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a free Mizzou Madness t-shirt and other prizes will be up for grabs throughout the evening. Doors to Mizzou Madness open at 8 p.m.

Tiger Basketball also announced that it would host its annual Black & Gold Game at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30. Admission to the Black & Gold Game is $5, but a portion of the proceeds will go to benefit Coaches vs. Cancer and the Boys & Girls Club of Mid-Missouri.
