Mizzou Basketball Continues Off-Season Workouts

Sept. 6, 2007

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Basketball continues its off-season training this week and mutigers.com takes a look at some agility and strength training the Tigers are using to prepare for their unique style of play.

Each day throughout the week the Tigers will begin workouts 6 a.m., focusing on speed and conditioning training, while spending afternoons with strength coach David Deets. Mizzou finishes each day of workouts with an open gym session inside Mizzou Arena.

Although the Tigers are in the midst of preseason workouts, the start of basketball practice is just around the corner, as teams across the country officially kick off the start of the 2007-08 season on Oct. 12. Missouri will open its 2007 exhibition season on Nov. 3 against the University of Missouri-St. Louis and will start regular-season action on Nov. 12 in the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. Opponents and times for the first and second rounds of the CBE Classic will be announced at a later date by tournament officials.
