Lee Takes 12th in NCAA Hammer Throw Final

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Missouri sophomore Krishna Lee (Kansas City, Mo.) competed Friday in the final round of the women's hammer throw at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Sacramento. Lee placed 12th in the field with a throw of 187 feet, 10 inches (57.26m). Lee, who broke the school record at the NCAA Mideast Regional, had a great national-meet experience this weekend in competing in both the hammer and shot put.

 

CSTV will air live coverage of the remaining events of today, starting at 7:30 p.m. (CT).

 

Junior Shernelle Nicholls will compete tomorrow in the finals of the women's shot put, beginning at Noon (CT). CBS will air live, two-hour coverage of the event's final day starting at the same time.

 

Dailey Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Junior thrower Tyler Dailey (Joplin, Mo.) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America's (CoSIDA) Academic All-District team yesterday. Dailey, who earned All-America honors during the indoor season in the weight throw, is now eligible for CoSIDA's Academic All-America award, an honor bestowed to only 45 track and field athletes around the nation, with 15 earning first-team honors.

 

Missouri has had at least one athlete named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team in each of the last five years and has had an CoSIDA Academic All-American in each of the past three years.
