Kent State Coach Scott Strickland
On overall performance:
"First I want to say how proud of my team I am. We never quit and that's what I want people to remember about our season".

On the bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning:
"I think the whole world thought that we were going to bunt. It was more of a great defensive play, they gambled and that is why they won the game".

On the outcome of today's game:
"We tried to battle back today, but it didn't work out".

Commenting on what Coach Strickland told him for motivation:
"They were on their last guy on the depth chart, they were saving people and they didn't respect us."

Miami Head Coach Jim Morris
On maintaining the lead:
"We were very fortunate to win it. They lead off with a double and [Danny] Gil made a great play on the bunt, and it was the most important play of the game."

On decision to pitch Gil at the end of the game:
"The score was 8-1 or 8-2, and you don't want to put in your closer in that situation. We have a game to play tomorrow and maybe a game on Monday, so we wanted to give our pitching as much of a break as we can."
