Tiger Softball Team Jumps to 18th in National Poll

Columbia, Mo. - Coming off of a weekend split with seventh-ranked Baylor, the Missouri softball team jumped up three spots to stand at 18th in the nation in the weekly ESPN.com/USA Softball poll released May 1.

Currently tied with Baylor for the lead in the Big 12 Conference, Missouri will host Nebraska in its final two-game series of the regular season. Missouri and Baylor, both 12-3 in the Big 12, enter their final two games of the season looking to capture the conference title. While the Tigers host Nebraska in a weekend event, Baylor will host No. 23 Texas in a single game Thursday, May 3, at 6:30 p.m. (CT) and sixth-ranked Texas A&M Saturday, May 6, at 4 p.m. (CT).

Special ticket prices are being offered for each of Missouri's games against Nebraska. On Saturday, fans can enjoy a family four pack of tickets for only $10 with Sunday's fans able to purchase tickets for only one dollar!

Game one of the weekend series is slated for a 2 p.m. (CT) start Saturday, May 5, at University Field, with game two beginning Sunday, May 6, at 1 p.m. (CT). Missouri's six seniors, Leanne Bowers, Alli Kennewell, Kathy Masterson, Sarah Stringer, Alyson Tobyne and Amanda Jo White will be recognized prior to the start of Sunday's afternoon game.

Nebraska, 36-13 overall and 9-7 in the Big 12, stands fifth in the league having suffered losses to Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Baylor.
