Columbia, Mo. - Missouri's Jamaican Sensation is heading to Turkey. Former Tiger Kevin Young signed a one-year professional deal to play for the Kepez Belediyesi (Kuh-pez Bella-duh-YES-uh) Basketball Club of the Turkish Basketball League on Monday.
Young entertained three offers from international basketball clubs, but settled on Kepez Belediyesi, a Division II organization located in the Kepez district of Antalya, Turkey.
"This is so exciting," Young said. "To have the opportunity to play professional basketball is a dream come true. I don't have a lot of time to get my things in order, but it doesn't matter. I can't wait to start working out with the team."
While Young found out of his professional fortunes on Monday afternoon, the organization's plan is to have the 6-foot-8, 280-pounder bound for Turkey on Tuesday morning at 7 a.m., with the hopes of practicing with the team on Wednesday afternoon. Young's flight time to Turkey will take approximately 18 hours.
