Tigers Finish Eighth at PING/ASU Invitational

PHOENIX, Ariz. - - After standing 16th after round one of the PING/ASU Invitational, the Mizzou women's golf team moved up to finish eighth at the completion of the three-round tournament. The Tigers shot a 296 in Sunday's final round to finish with a three-day total of 904 and was just one shot out of a tie for sixth place.
Junior Stephanie Wavro finished in a tie for 15th with a three-day score of 222 after recording a 77 on Sunday and senior Kelli Strubinger was two shots behind Wavro with a 224 total, placing in a in a tie for 21st after a round of 73 on Sunday.
Freshman Chelsea Schriewer carded a career-best round of even-par 72 on Sunday. She finished with a final 230 final total and in a tie for 40th overall.
Sophomore Madde Augustsson made four birdies in her final round, recording a 74, her best round of the tournament. She had a three-round total of 232 to finish tied for 50th spot.
Freshman Ellen Hoeper shot a 79 in the final round and finished in 73rd place with a 239 three-round score.
Freshman Denaye Dollens, competing as an individual in the tournament, finished 93rd with a 54-hole score of 254.
Next up for Missouri will be the Big 12 Championships, which will be played at the Country Club of Lincoln in Lincoln, Neb. April 17-19. Last season, Mizzou finished fourth at the Conference Championships.
