
Tigers Women's Golf Finishes Fifth in Arizona

CATALINA, Ariz. - - The Mizzou Women's Golf team recorded its second top-five finish in three tournaments this spring after placing fifth at the Mountain View Collegiate in Catalina, Ariz. The Tigers shot 299 in Sunday's final round and were just one shot out of fourth place with a three-round total of 891.
Senior Kelli Strubinger finished in a tie for seventh place in the individual standings, turning in a career-best 54-hole total of 218. She turned in a final round of even par-72 on Sunday and her seventh-place finish is the best of the 2005-06 season for Strubinger.
Junior Stephanie Wavro had seven birdies in her third round, on her way to a 3-under par 69, her career-best 18-holes score. She finished in a tie for 20th place with a 54-hole score of 222.
Freshmen Chelsea Schriewer and Ellen Hoeper finished tied for 35th and 42nd respectively. Sophomore Madde Augustsson had to withdraw from the tournament on Sunday because of an illness.
Missouri will remain in Arizona, taking part in the Ping ASU Invitational in Phoenix beginning on Friday.
