Black & Gold Intersquad Wraps Fall Track & Field Season

COLUMBIA, Mo.--The Missouri track and field squad has been practicing for three months and is itching for a competition setting. The athletes themselves, coaches, and interested parties will get their first look at the 2007 team at the Black & Gold Intersquad this Friday in the Hearnes Fieldhouse starting at 2:45 p.m. The men's team is coming off a third-place finish at last year's Big 12 Championships.

 

Head Coach Rick McGuire calls this meet a "fun way to wrap up our fall track season." And while the aura of the meet will be of fun, it will also be of some interesting competition. Both the men's and women's squads have several returning All-Big 12 team members who will likely contribute to a successful 2007 campaign. In addition, some of the Tiger newcomers will likely enter themselves in the fold easily and produce big points for Mizzou in the Big 12 and NCAA competition.

 

The full women's and men's roster have been split into the separate black and gold squads. The meet will be scored as combined men's and women's total with international, 12-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, scoring used.

 

The public is invited to attend, admission is free.

Room Still Available for Throws Development Camp

Room is still available for those interested in the Missouri Thrower Development Camp, held this upcoming Saturday and Sunday. Packages are available in one- and two-day packages and feature the Mizzou staff's teachings in conditioning, sports psychology, weight training, nutrition, and injury prevention.
