Dallas, Texas - For the second consecutive week, the University of Missouri's Stefhon Hannah (Chicago, Ill. / Hyde Park HS / Chipola CC) has been named the Big 12 Conference's Rookie of the Week after averaging 15.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 steals and 4.5 rebounds in wins over Arkansas and Evansville.
A 6-foot, 175-pound junior from Chicago, Ill., Hannah opened the week with a career high 21-point effort in an 86-64 win over Arkansas on ESPN2. The former Chipola Community College standout added six steals and six assists in the win to help Mizzou snap an eight-game skid to the Razorbacks.
Hannah concluded the week with 10 points and a career high six rebounds against Evansville to help the Tigers to a 73-54 victory. Hannah also added a game high five assists and three steals to lead Mizzou to its first 9-0 start since the 2001-02 campaign.
Hannah is the first Tiger to win back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors since Keyon Dooling in 1998-99 and is the first Mizzou standout to win multiple Rookie of the Week accolades since Linas Kleiza in 2003-04.
The 9-0 Tigers return to action on Dec. 9 when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind., to face the Purdue Boilermakers. Game time in West Lafayette is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPN360. com.
