Women's Tennis Completes Final Day of Kansas State Invitational

The University of Missouri women's tennis team completed play at the Kansas State Invitational Sunday in Manhattan, Kan.

After Sunday's action, Tiger Head Coach Blake Starkey commented on the tournament.

"Were working on getting better, and these matches are going to help us later on. But overall it was a solid weekend."

Tiger junior Chrissy Svetlic earned her second singles victory of the tournament, defeating Arkansas' Rachel Wilhelm, 6-4, 6-3. Svetlic finishes the weekend 2-1 and is now 7-3 in the fall.

In other singles action, Tiger senior Amanda Pratzel fell to No. 83 Ela Kaluder of Arkansas, 6-2, 6-0. Arkansas' Mayori Franco defeated Missouri senior Erika Josbena, 6-0, 6-4. Wagner lost to Arkansas' Audrey Bordeleau, 6-0, 6-1.

Tigers Charlotte Bellis, Katelyn McKenzie and Kaitlin Dunham also lost their singles matches against Arkansas opponents.

The Tigers will return to Columbia to prepare for the Mizzou Invitational, Oct. 13-15, in Columbia. Mizzou will host Iowa State, Wichita State, Illinois State and Saint Louis in the Tigers' first home tournament of the fall. The Mizzou Invitational will be held at the Green Tennis Center in Columbia, and the public is welcome to attend.
